DOMU MIX (link)

Well what can I say, an exclusive little mix weighing in at a tasty 49 minutes and it's the shizznits from the mighty DOMU.

Dominic Stanton, Producer/DJ/Space Pirate and all round good guy is responsible for some of the most forward thinking dance music made over the last years. Always consistant, never boring and always quality Domu has brought us pleasure with projects as SONAR CIRCLE, UMOD, BAKURA, RIMAYOKOTO and latest project DOMU presents PETE SIMPSON to name but a few.

As well as forging his unique style and sound with his production, Domu also carries that through with his DJing. A proper DJ's DJ, DOMU is the bee's knees. Hey but don't just take my word for it, download this mix and hear it for yourself.

Domu occasionally hosts the Benji B show on 1xtra so check it next time he's on.

You can also keep a check on what Domu's up too via his website and label TrebleO. Check it for new releases, up and coming Gigs, If he plays near you, go and check him. He don't dissappoint!

Roy! (link)

Roy Davis Jnr"s "I have a vision" remixed by The Juan MacLean (DFA)
A lovely reworking of the ubiquitous Roy Davis Jnr original. This gets
the Juan treatment and sits nicely along side The Juan MacLean smasher
Happy House. Roy describes his music as Soul Electrica, a mix of soul
and electronic music. I Like to describe it simply as good.

Enjoy, Courtesy of RCRD LBL.

Fuck Buttons

Fuck Buttons performing the opening track off the album Street Horrsing.
A good record well worth a check. Armed with some fisher price and some
distortion pedals they perform live in juan's basement.

Zombie Zombie

More Zombie Zombie. Live version of Walk of the dead courtesy of the tube.
Krautrock meets John Carpenter.

I do ever so enjoy it.

Crosseyed and painless

A Talking Heads classic, genius and correct use of cowbell.

Keep the edit burning (link)

Gwen McCrae's classic "Keep the fire burning" gets a re-edit by Soul fiesta's Jimmy the twin. Extending this bloomin classic, making it real long, giving you a bit more to get in and get into... good work sunshine.

dum but fun (link)

What a fantastic bit of bleep squelch action from The Martin Brothers.
The track is called Dum. This reminds me of a cross between The lone ranger by Quantum Jump and Mouth by Iz & Diz, fuzed with a bit spatula city styled bleep booty bass mash up action.

Dum and fun....

I enjoy it.

Flying Lotus...

INSPIRATION!

 Bassline...Oof!

Space walk space talk. (mix link)

So here goes...1st post, let's see shall we? Hope you've a good xmas and your celebrations for NYE were fun. Over the next few weeks we will be getting busy with our posts, we promise some great mixes from an array of good people. Space walkin and space talkin and hoping to brighten your day with a little something you may not of heard before.

First mix is one of mine. Hope you enjoy, file under space disco / good house. A collection of some of the tunes which made me sit up this year, such as the majestic Todd Terje rework of Balearic Incantation by Dolle Jolle and the Tough Kids mix of Roland Appel's New Love. There's Ame's thumping Tonight tune, a couple of oldies in Luke Vibert's "I Love Acid" and Square One's High Rise. There's one of mine, "Waydun" its an unmixed and unmastered version but you get the vibe which is the main thing. Also my favourite re-edit this year in the shape of Wade Nicholls version of America's Horse with no name. Aptly renamed Horse with no shame. Top stuff.

Look out for our little club night due to start in March 09. Details will follow....
All the best for 2009, Kin urry up Summer!!
